Introduction

The August birthday person is, well, august.

Astrologically speaking, they are Leo - the lion, king of the jungle, respected and impressive, king of the hill, top of the heap. A-number-one, top of the list. Their personalities are said to be strong and dignified, competent and naturally in charge.

And if you doubt that this is the case, just ask them...

In my experience the eating habits of my Virgos are markedly different to those of our Leo friends.

They both want to look good at all costs. However, your typical Virgo eats practically and mostly for reasons of good health and well-being. Valuing cleanliness above everything else, being neat, tidy, and with a huge fear of filth and messiness, your Virgo generally doesn't actually cook. But if they do, it’s all a rather short order and short shrift affair. Shortcuts are definitely to order...

The symbol for Libra is the scales. Friends of that ilk are skilful and diplomatic, and given scales are all about balance, peace and harmony is essential to their well being.

Librans do, however, have difficulty with decision-making, as they can’t help but see both sides of the argument, and often identify and empathise with both.

Ah, Scorpio. Dear Scorpios are keenly observant, extremely independent, intense individuals, who are known to be loyal, passionate and persistent, dynamic and resourceful.  They exhibit a calm exterior, and are usually in a position of power, with lots going on below the surface.

My wonderful, generous, loyal Scorpio friends love intense (even bitter) extreme flavours and spicy foods. Their go-to comfort foods are beef cheeks and lamb shanks, more winter weather foods, so for our Bloodwood Scorpio Dinner Party we lightened things up a bit to suit this really warm spring weather we are already having.

Our zesty Scorpio menu melds fish, mushrooms, venison, citrusy cheeses, light vegetables and bright juicy fruits with plenty of succulent flavours to create a delightfully fresh dinner, perfect for a warm Scorpio spring evening.

À votre santé.

Pauvre Paris.

Our favourite Sag in the whole wide world loves having "CH" evenings. All of her favourite foods start with those two little letters.

High on her wish list are: Champers (our bubbly is called Chirac), chicken, chips, Chardonnay, cheeses and chocolate, to name a few.

With this in mind the Sagitarrian dinner party menu was created to celebrate Sagittarians, Christmas (another blessed “CH” word), and the most charming of foods and wines that start with the letters "CH", all in the one meal.

Featuring Christmassy coloured elements of red, green and white throughout, this is a fun and festive dinner party menu,  hatched in order to entertain our tireless, born entertainer herself, our wonderfully funny, curious, adventurous, mischievous, fiercely independent and selfless Sagittarian friend.

Cheers 'Rene. Cha cha cha!
